Nepali karate player Erika Gurung has won the gold medal in Thailand Open Karate.
She defeated Thailand's Chankan Khiokham in the senior women's 68 kg category. Other athletes have also performed well for Nepal in Thailand Open Karate. On the U-12 side, Basnet won silver in the 37 kg weight group.
According to karate coach Kushal Shrestha, Rajeev Pudasaini has won bronze in the senior men's 75 kg category. Kritika Adhikari was third in senior women's kumite category 68 kg and Savina Shrestha was third in 55 kg category. Varsha Budhamagar was third in 50 kg.
Diya Tamang came third in the U-14 women's 52 kg category. Ashish Harijan came third in men's 45 kg category. Prajal Thapa came third in the U-14 men's 50 kg category. On the U-10 side, Deeksha Tamang won bronze in the kata and 26 kg fight.
