Laligurans National Academy has honored the athletes of the school who have won medals in the 15th Central President Running Shield Games.
In the program held on Saturday, Laligurans honored 11 players and three coaches on the occasion of the National Sports Talent Award. They were honored by Tarkeshwar Municipality Mayor Krishnahari Maharjan and Laliguras National Academy Principal Gopal Budhathoki among others.
Athletics players Anisha Tharu, Dina Gopali, Bhagwati Khadka, Asmita Bhujel, Avinash Sunar, Sant Bahadur Darai, Niraj Shah, Dipendra Giri, Sharmila Bick and Shailesh Shrestha and USU player Anu Moktan were honoured.
Athletics coaches Sitaram Chaudhary and Devi Basnet and USU coach Subas Magar were also honored. Laligurans won 10 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals in athletics at the running shield held on May 30 under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and organized by the National Sports Council (Rakhep). Laliguras also won a gold medal in USU.
During this, the players studying at Laligurans Academy made 6 national records. Anisha Tharu won four gold and one silver medal in long jump, triple jump, 4x400m relay and 4x100m relay. During this, she set junior national records in triple jump and two relays.
