Kathmandu Sports Events is going to organize Franchise Indoor Premier League Cricket for the first time in Nepal.
Franchise Premier Indoor Cricket League will be held at Chunikhel in Kathmandu from August 23 to 28. In the press conference held on Thursday, Jyoti Bhandari, the tournament director, said that 10 franchise teams will participate in the 10-over league.
The Royal Sports Park in Chunikhel will be the league. The top four teams of the single round robin league will make it to the semi-finals. According to the organizers, the highest prize money of indoor cricket will be given to the winners and it will be announced in a few days. Technical Director Ravindra Gupta said that there will also be an auction of team purchase and players. In addition to a marquee, the players will be able to register their names in categories 'A', 'B' and 'C'. According to the organizers, the national players should be kept in the marquee. Category 'A' players will get Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000, Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 for 'B' players and Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000 for 'C' players. In the
league, a franchise team will be able to spend a total of 150,000. Director Bhandari said that a minimum of 150,000 has been allocated to purchase the team. Director Bhandari said that the league was started in the T-10 format with the aim of promoting it professionally.
