England beat India by five wickets in the first Test on Tuesday with the help of Ben Duckett's excellent 149 runs. England managed to win this historic and dramatic victory on the fifth day of the Test at Headingley.

Having a target of 371 runs for victory, England managed to score 3337 runs for five wickets in response. With this victory, England has also taken a 1-0 lead in the five-test series. England started the game ahead by 21 runs without the loss of any wicket.

Duckett, who scored 65 runs for the first wicket, made a partnership of 188 runs with Jack Crawley and prepared the basis of victory. Jamie Smith remained unbeaten on 44 and scored the winning run by hitting a six. Joe Root scored 53 runs and remained not out.
