Organizers Myagdi and Syangja District Sports Development Committee have reached the finals of the Gandaki state level inter-district men's volleyball tournament 'Magdi Volleyball Cup-2082' with a prize money of Rs.
Myagdi and Syangja will compete for the first place in the final of the competition organized by the Myagdi District Volleyball Association in collaboration with the promotion of Provincial Sports Council Gandaki and District Sports Development Committee Myagdi.
In the semi-final held today at Beni's open stage playground, Myagdi defeated Baglung in three straight sets with the difference of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-21, said Tulsing Thapa, the referee coordinator of the competition. Syangja defeated Tanahun by three sets against two.
Tanahun, who won the first and second games with a margin of 25-19 and 25-22, lost to Syangja with a margin of 30-28, 25-16 and 19-17 in the third, fourth and fifth set. Tanahun and Baglung will compete for the third place, according to the coordinator of the tournament, the president of the Myagdi District Volleyball Association, Tejendra Baniyan.
Myagdi, Mustang, Baglung, Parbat, Kaski, Tanahun, Syangja and Nawalpur districts participated in the competition which started from Sunday. In the competition, the winner will receive two lakhs in cash, the runner-up will receive one lakh rupees in cash, the third team will receive cash of Rs50,000 and the fourth team will receive cash of Rs25,000 along with trophies, medals and certificates.
In the same competition, the best coach and the best player will receive Rs 5,000 each and the best spiker, best server, best blocker, best libero, best defender and best setter will receive a trophy and certificate along with Rs 3,000 each.
