Tiptop New Diamond Sports Club and Nepal Police Club won on the first day of the National Nekos Cup Women's Volleyball Tournament which started on Saturday in Hetaunda.
New Diamond defeated APF Club in straight sets. Diamond won the set 27-25, 25-15, 25-17. Police club easily defeated Bagmati Pradesh team in straight sets by 25-1, 25-4, 25-8.
Hetaunda-4 Mayor of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city Meena Lama inaugurated the ongoing competition at the volleyball court at Huprachaur. 6 teams including Police, APF, New Diamond, Bagmati and Madhesh and Gandaki provinces are participating in the competition. The winner will get Rs 5 lakh, runner-up Rs 3 lakh, third place Rs 1 lakh and the fourth place team will get Rs 51,000. The best player in
category will get 5 thousand rupees. The organizer Nepal Sports Center (NECOS) has informed that the competition will run on the basis of Leaguecom Knockout until June 11.
