The MIS Cup sports competition held at Modern Indian School has ended on Saturday. In basketball boys, host MIS won the title by defeating DAV with a score of 30-15.
In the girls' final, St. Mary's defeated KV by a score of 12-4 to win the title. In Badminton Junior Boys, Ryan Nath of MIS came first and Ayush Kushwaha came second. Adit Gupta of MIA won gold and Kushangar Sharan won silver in senior boys. In junior girls, Yushma Maharjan of DAV won gold and Shivalika Giri of St Mary's won silver. For senior girls, Niva Thapamgar of DAV won the gold by defeating Pragya Baijnath of MIS.
Similarly, in the table tennis boys team event, DAV won gold by defeating APF School 3-0. St. Mary's won the gold in the girls' team event. Meriz beat host MIS team 3-0.
In senior girls' chess, Pragya Pant and Shivani Rai of DAV stood first and second, while Ashish Gupta of MIS stood first and Ayush Kushwaha stood second. In joiner girls, Sripran Das of MIS stood first and Tanishka Jha of NIS stood second. Tejas Anand of KV and Niva Rai of MIA stood first and second respectively in Boys. James School won the
cricket title. James beat host MIS by 3 wickets in the final. In senior boys futsal, DAV won the title by defeating MIS 3-2. Rye School won the joiner boys. Rai defeated MIS 3-2 in the final.
In the four-day MIS Cup, more than 600 students from 12 schools competed in badminton, table tennis, cricket, futsal, basketball and chess.
MIS School President Sardar Pritam Singh, Kendriya Vidyalaya Principal A. Gerald, MIA Principal Raju Peter distributed prizes to the winning team and players.
