Nepal won its second consecutive victory in Billie Jean King Cup tennis on Wednesday. Nepal defeated Qatar 3-0 in the Group B match being held in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In the first match, Nepal won 2-1 against Myanmar.
In the first singles, Shivali Gurung of Nepal defeated Dana Khalifa of Qatar in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. In the second singles, Nepal's Abhilasha Bista defeated Qatar's Mubaraka Al Naimi 7-6, 6-4. In doubles, the pair of Sunira Thapa and Swastika Bista defeated the pair of Qatar's Hind Al Mudahka and Mubaraka 4-6, 7-5, 11-9.
Nepal will play against Sri Lanka in the final match of the group stage on Thursday, team official Ajay Bisht has informed.
