The first Mr. Mahanagara physical fitness competition organized by Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward 22 will be held for two days from Friday. At the press conference held on Tuesday regarding the competition, Chairman of the organizing ward number 11 Chinikaji Maharjan informed that all the preparations have been completed.
The competition will be held on the 6th and 7th of June at the National Auditorium on Exhibition Road. A total of 6 weight groups will be contested. Competition coordinator Ishwar Shrestha said that competition will be held in men's 55 kg, 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg and above 75 kg weight groups. The winner of each weight group will be selected for the overall competition of Mr. Mahanagar.
The overall winner will get the title of Mr. Mahanagar and Rs 5 lakh and a trophy. Prizes of Rs 75,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 will be awarded to the winners, runners-up and third place winners of each weight group respectively. The fourth will get 15,000 and the fifth will get 10,000 rupees.
Weighing will be held on June 6 and the second day will be the prizing and finals. In the first edition, only male players will compete. Ward chairman Maharjan informed that women will also compete in the next edition. On that occasion, Maharjan also announced the trophy for the overall winner.
