APF Club has won the title of Prachanda Cup National Women's Volleyball Tournament. APF won the title by defeating the divisional rival Nepal Police Club in straight sets in the finals held at Pokhara Stadium on Saturday.
APF became the champion with an easy 3-0 win. Police, who entered the finals undefeated in the competition, could not maintain that rhythm in the decisive match. Although the first set looked competitive, APF held the rhythm towards the end and won the set 25-19.
Even in the second set, even though the police made some efforts, they could not stand against the sharp attack of Niruta Thagunna and the strong defense of APF. APF won this set 25-20 and took a 2-0 lead in the match.
In the third set, APF looked even stronger. APF secured the title by winning the set with a wide margin of 25-11 while the police looked weak. Along with the title, APF received a cash prize of 6 lakh rupees, while the police, who came in second place, settled for 3 lakh rupees.
New Diamond Youth Sports Club won the third place competition before the finals. He beat Everest Volleyball Club in 3-0 sets and won the third place and received a prize of Rs 1 lakh.
In the semi-final stage, APF defeated New Diamond and Police Everest in straight sets to qualify for the title clash. 6 teams participated in the competition which was played on the basis of league less knockout. The competition was organized by National Sports Academy and All Nepal Sports Federation.
