The departmental team APF Club has decided the place in the semi-finals of the Prachanda Cup National Women's Volleyball Tournament.
APF won 3-0 easily over Spet Rampur in the last league match under Group 'A' at Pokhara Stadium on Thursday. APF had a one-sided performance against Rampur, which is considered to be the weakest team in the tournament. APF won the first two sets by 25-6 and won the third set by 25-7.
APF will compete with New Diamond Youth Sports Club in the semi-finals.
Apart from Niruta Thagunna, APF who gave a chance to the players who were on the bench most of the time did not have to struggle much to win. Rampurbata's journey has come to an end after suffering its second defeat. In the first match, Rampur lost to Nepal Police Club in straight sets.
Group 'B' winners New Diamond defeated Gandaki Pradesh Volleyball Association and Everest Volleyball Club in straight sets 3-0 to reach the semi-finals.
On Thursday, Everest reached the semi-finals by defeating Gandaki 3-1 in the next match. Everest has secured a meeting with Police in the semi-finals. After handing the first set to Gandaki 21-25, Everest won consecutive sets 25-14, 25-22, 25-14 in their favor .
The semi-final of the competition organized by the National Sports Academy and co-organized by the All Nepal Sports Federation will be held on Friday.
