Departmental teams Nepal Police Club and New Diamond Youth Sports Club have made it to the semifinals of the Prachanda Cup National Women's Volleyball Tournament.

Police beat Step Rampur in straight sets 3-0 in Group 'A' at Pokhara Stadium on Wednesday. Earlier in the opening match too, Police won in straight sets against APF.

After Tribhuvan Army Club withdrew its name from the competition, Rampur was given a place. However, the police, who came to the court with the experienced players of the national team, maintained one-sided pressure on Rampur. Police easily won all three sets 25-7, 25-9, 25-9. Police will compete against Group 'B' runners-up to reach the finals.

New Diamond Youth Sports Club defeated Gandaki Volleyball Association in straight sets 3-0 in Group 'B' on Wednesday. After winning the first match in straight sets against Everest Club, New Diamond became the winner of Group 'B' after the second win. New Diamond won the set 25-8, 25-10, 25-12.

Now New Diamond will compete with the winner of the match between APF and Step Rampur to reach the final. It was the first game in the tournament for Gandaki. Gandaki's trip will be decided after the match against Everest on Thursday.
