Nepali football was proud, our team is undefeated against Laos. Such a claim cannot be made now, because Nepal lost 2-1 to Laos in the third round of Asia Cup football qualifiers on Tuesday. This defeat was unforgettable and shocking for Nepal.

In the match at the New Laos National Stadium in the capital city of Vientiane, the performance of the visiting team Nepal was not dynamic. Earlier, Nepal was undefeated in 6 matches between the two countries. However, the team under the training of Matt Ross, the head coach of the Nepali team, could not maintain that order. With the loss, Nepal's two good results against Singapore and Hong Kong under the leadership of the Australian coach have also been overshadowed. 

This is the first time that Nepal has been defeated in international football against Laos. Damoth Thongkhamsbhat opened the scoring in the 13th minute in Laos' victory. Peter Phangthavong added the second goal in the 49th minute of the game. In the 73rd minute for Nepal, Manish Dangi scored a goal from the penalty spot. That was not enough to avoid defeat. 

This is Manish's fourth international goal for Nepal. Kritisharat Chunju made his debut for Nepal in this match. He entered the field as a substitute player in place of Manish in the 74th minute. Nepal has also taken a bad start in Group 'F' of the third round of qualifying and has suffered its second defeat in a row.
