Goldengate Basketball Club defeated Samakhusi Youth Club in the Himalayan Java Basketball League (HJBL) on Wednesday.
Goldengate, which has already confirmed its place in the finals, defeated Samakhushi with a score of 82-58.
This is Goldengate's ninth consecutive victory in the league stage. The 6-team league was held on the basis of double round robin. After losing the first game against Times Basketball Club, Goldengate has won all the games since then.
Goldengate topped the league with 19 points from 9 wins and 1 loss in 10 games. Goldengate will compete with Times, who are second in the league, in the final for the title.
Goldengate led in all four quarters on Wednesday at Kirtipur Covered Hall. Goldengate took a 16-14 lead in the first quarter and won the second quarter 27-16. Goldengate took the lead in all by winning the third 22-15 and the fourth 17-13.
Goldenegut's Vivek Shrestha was declared the Most Valuable Player. Vivek scored 14. Samakhushi's Prajwal Maharjan scored 17.
