Lumbini Province became the champion on Monday in athletics under U-14 National School Sports. Lumbini won the most 4 golds and became the champion. In the competition organized by the National Sports Council (Rakhep), Karnali Province came second with 2 gold and 5 silver.
Gandaki Province and Madhes Province came third jointly with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. For competing for 12 golds, Bagmati Province and Sudurpaschim Province won equal 1-1 golds. On the second and last day at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, boys and girls competed equally 3-3 for 6 golds.
student Hemraj Chaudhary of Gandaki became the first in 200 meters. He completed the prescribed distance in 24.9 seconds. Ayush Chaudhary from Madhes was second and Nitesh Bhattarai from Koshi was third. Anuja Tharu Chaudhary from Lumbini became the first among female students in the same competition. Anuja spent 31.4 seconds to cover the prescribed distance. Asmita Lamgade of Kosi came second and Varsha Yonjan of Madhes came third.
Nepalaya International Management Pvt. Ltd. Hasta Sunar of Bagmati won gold in the student 800 meter race of the competition which was co-organised by and in conjunction with the Nepal School Sports Federation. He clocked 2 minutes 07.4 seconds. Vivek Bogti of Karnali won the silver and Nitesh Bhattarai of Koshi won the bronze. Lumbini's Chandni Pasi topped the women's competition with a time of 2 minutes 47.3 seconds. Juhi Rai from Kosi came second and Rachna Bohra from Sudurpaschim came third.
Madhes stood first, Koshi second and Gandaki third in the 4 x 100 meter relay. Lumbini, Karnali and Koshi won the top three positions respectively in the female category of the same competition.
Basketball: Koshi and Bagmati won the title
Koshi and Bagmati have won the three by three basketball title under U-14 National School Sports. Koshi became the champion in boys and Bagmati girls. Koshi defeated Madhesh 17-12 in the boys' finals held at Rakhep's court in Tripureshwar. Lumbini came third.
Bagmati beat Karnali 15-3 in the girls' title match. Koshi settled for third place.
The winner was awarded during a program by Ranjana Pradhan, a member of Rakhep Executive Committee and competition coordinator, Rajkumar Karki, Secretary General of the School Sports Federation, and Subash Chandra Pradhan, President of Nepalaya. Teams from the same 7 provinces participated in both male and female competitions.
