Madhesh Pradesh's Aditya Yadav and Koshi Pradesh's Prakriti Kafle have won gold in the 100m athletics race under the U-14 National Junior School Games. Aditya is the winner in Chhatra and Prakriti Chhatra.
Aditya completed the race in 11.6 seconds at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar on Sunday. Surendra Pariyar of Karnali state won silver and Ankit Tajpuria of Koshi state won bronze. Prakriti spent 14.6 seconds. Goma Shahi of Karnali won silver and Gauri Kumari Saud of Sudurpaschim Pradesh won bronze.
Ayan Rana of Gandaki state became the first in the student 400m race. He clocked 55.6 seconds. Rohit Dhami of Sudurpaschim was second and Priyanshu Shah of Koshi was third. Sushma Budha of Karnali was the winner in the girl category with 69.3 seconds. Aaradhya Chalise from Gandaki came second and Shilvi Naga from Bagmati state came third.
Surendra Sunar of Karnali became the winner in student long jump. He jumped 5.98 meters. Nitesh Gachchdar of Koshi was second and Mohan Pariyar of Sudurpaschim was third. Lumbini's Anuja Tharu Choudhary became the first in the event with a jump of 4.17 meters. Karuna Chand of Karnali was second and Prakriti Kafle of Koshi was third.
Karnali has won 2 golds on the first day of athletics with 12 categories competing for 6 golds. Koshi, Gandaki, Madhesh and Lumbini won 1 gold each.
Aryan Shahi and Arnab Shrestha from Bagmati and Gautam Tamang and Saksham Basnet from Koshi reached the finals in table tennis students' doubles held at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lainchour.
