Marvelous English School has won the champion trophy in the 20th Annapurna 2nd National School Chess Championship. In the age group U-9, U-11, U-13, U-13 and above, Marvelous won the champion trophy by scoring 45 points.
Manakamana School came second with 40 points and Triyog High School came third with 38 points in the competition with 550 student-athletes participating.
In the national competition held for four days at Annapurna School, Kasiv Karki of Kathmandu Prajna Kunj, Anmol Rai of Valley Public and Harshbardhan Rathi of DAV School won the top three positions in the U-13 and above students. On the female side, Precious Adhikari of Mankamana, Ananya Sainju of Suryodaya Secondary and Nelisha Ojha of Prajnakunj stood first, second and third respectively.
Dipan Mainali of Asian Public, Oscar Panthi of Pathshala Nepal and Brij Nandan Jha of Marvelous for under 13 students and Meghna Adhikari of Manakamana, Pariyacha Bolakha of Nitin Memorial and Paridhi Khatri of Triyog stood first, second and third respectively.
Yogesh Khadka, ward president of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27, distributed the champion trophy to the winning school. The competition was jointly organized by the Nepal Intellectual Federation and Annapurna School.
