U-14 National School Sports: Bagmati Champion in Table Tennis

Lumbini Province won 4 gold medals and became the champion in U-14 National School Sports in Athletics. Karnali state came second with 2 gold and 5 silver. Gandaki Province and Madhesh Province came third together with 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. Due to competition for 12 golds, Bagmati and Sudurpaschim Province won 1 gold each.

The competition organized by the National Sports Council (Rakhep) was held at the Dashrath Stadium on Monday, where boys/girls competed for 3-3 gold medals.

Hemraj Chaudhary of Gandaki became the first in student 200 meters. He completed the distance in 24.9 seconds. Ayush Chaudhary from Madhesh came second and Nitesh Bhattarai from Koshi came third. Anuja Tharu Chaudhary of Lumbini became the winner in the female category of the same competition. Anuja spent 31.4 seconds. Asmita Lamgade of Koshi was second and Barsha Yonjan of Madhesh was third.

Hasta Sunar of Bagmati won gold in the student 800m race. He clocked 2 minutes 07.4 seconds. Vivek Bogti of Karnali won silver and Nitesh Bhattarai of Koshi won bronze. Lumbini's Chandni Pasi won gold in the women's category with a time of 2 minutes 47.3 seconds. Juhi Rai of Koshi was second and Rachna Bohra of Sudurpaschim was third.

Madhesh stood first, Koshi second and Gandaki third in the 4 x 100 meter relay. Among female students, Lumbini, Karnali and Koshi won the top three positions respectively.

Koshi and Bagmati won the basketball title

Koshi and Bagmati won the three by three basketball title under U-14 National School Sports. Koshi students and Bagmati students became champions. Koshi defeated Madhesh with a score of 17-12 in the student finals held at Rakhep's court. Lumbini came third. Bagmati beat Karnali by 15-3 in the girls final. Koshi finished third.

Bagmati's 'clean sweep' in table tennis

Bagmati has made a clean sweep of gold in table tennis under U-14 National School Sports. Bagmati won all the gold in table tennis where there were 4 events.

Aryan Shahi and Arsana Maharjan won the women's singles at the National Table Tennis Training Center in Lanchaur. In the final, Aryan defeated Bagmati's Arnav Shrestha 11-6, 11-7, 7-11, 14-12 and Arsana defeated Bagmati's Saira Shakya by 11-6, 11-9, 11-9. Among students, Sugam Paudel of Gandaki and Gautam Tamang of Koshi stood third. Sonam Gurung of Lumbini and Prajna Maharjan of Bagmati stood third in female category.

The pair of Aryan and Arnav from Bagmati is the first in student doubles. Their pair defeated Koshi's Gautam Tamang and Saksham Basnet in straight sets 11-9, 11-7, 11-6 in the final. Gandaki's Sugam Poudel and Deepnishan Shahi and Lumbini's Suvin Chhetri and Suvin Thapa came third.

Bagmati's pair of Arsana Maharjan and Saira Shakya defeated the pair of Koshi's Swastika Chaudhary and Shreya Subedi in straight sets 11-1, 11-4, 11-2 in the final. Lumbini's Sonam Gurung and Ayana Shah and Gandaki's Srishti Khadka and Brisna Basnet won bronze.  

Madhesh and Sudurpaschim rugby champions

Madhesh and Sudurpaschim became the champions of rugby sevens in the national school sports. Madhesh defeated Karnali in sudden death in the students' final at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar. Madhesh won the title by scoring 1 'try' in extra time after neither side could score in the stipulated time. Gandaki came third.

Sudurpaschim defeated Karnali in the women's title clash. Bagmati came third. The winners were awarded by Rakhep Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising and others.
