Times Basketball Club defeated Hounds Academy on Saturday and qualified for the finals of the Himalayan Java Basketball League (HJBL).
In their last league game, Times defeated the Hounds with a score of 92-67. Times will now compete with Goldengate Basketball Club who have already made it to the finals for the title.
Times has avenged its defeat against Hounds in the first round. Times and Hounds added 17 points. Both of them won 7 matches and lost 3 matches. Earlier, the Hounds defeated the Times 75-71. Saturday Times won by 25 points. When the points of the two teams are equal, Times has won because they added more points in the head-to-head.
Hounds were at the top of the league most of the time, but could not reach the finals after losing the last two games. Earlier, the Hounds lost to Goldengate.
Hounds took a slight lead of 20-19 in the first quarter against Times at Kirtipur Covered Hall. However, the Times made a 50-47 lead after making a comeback in the second quarter with 31-27 in their favor.
After the third quarter Times led 21-14 in their favor and made a lead of 71-61 before the last quarter. In the fourth and final quarter, the Times scored a one-sided 21-6 and scored a wide victory. Mabindra Bhandari of Times became the Most Valuable Player. Manish KC from Times scored the highest score of 27. Simon Gurung of Hounds scored 17.
