The 16th Gandaki state level President's Running Shield competition will be held in Gorkha this year. Gandaki State Level Presidential Running Shield Competition is going to be held on May 26th and 27th under the management and operation of the Provincial Sports Council Gandaki Province and District Sports Development Committee Gorkha.
District Sports Development Committee Chairman Prem Bahadur Tamang informed that more than 1,000 athletes from all 11 districts of Gandaki province will participate in the competition. It is estimated that 55 lakhs will be spent to conduct the competition. Chairman Tamang said that among the various games of the
competition, volleyball and kabaddi (women/men), taekwondo and karate games will be held in the covered hall at the Harmatari playground located in Gorkha municipality-6.
Similarly, athletics games will be held at the sports ground in Gorkha municipality-10 Chewetar, while the same game will be conducted at the disaster management hall. The players selected from the district level competition will participate in the state level competition. 106 players will be selected from the
competition and will participate in the central level President Running Shield competition.
