The football coach training given at the community level has started at Tansen Tundikhel in Palpa. The four-day coaching training is organized by the Palpa District Football Association. According to the association, it was the first time that the training of coaches given at the community level of the All Nepal Football Association was organized in Tansen.
With the support of Tansen municipality, 44 players from eight districts have participated in the initial training. Pranay Birjung Rana, President of Palpa District Football Association said that theoretical and practical knowledge will be given in the training. Kailali, Palpa, Chitwan, Bara, Kathmandu, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rupandehi districts are participating in the training.
Pankaj Shahi, head of basic level sports education department of All Nepal Football Association and Sanjit Singh, chief trainer of training and education program of ANFA, gave training. Inaugurating the training, Mayor Santosh Lal Shrestha emphasized that the training organized in the historical city of Tansen should be worthwhile. "There is historical significance because Tundikhel was prepared for football matches during the Rana period," he said.
Hemantraj Shakya, President of Tansen Municipality City Sports Committee and Ward President, said that football activity which has slowed down due to lack of ground for some time now is increasing. He said that the municipality is planning to hold local, district, provincial as well as national level competitions in collaboration with various sports organizations.
Pankaj Shahi, head of basic level sports education department of All Nepal Football Association, said that the training will give theoretical knowledge as well as technical subjects. Deputy General Secretary of Palpa District Football Association Yuvraj Chidi said that this kind of training has given encouragement to players and coaches. Karan Chitrakar, a member of ANFA PALPA, said that there is a lot of potential as the game can be conducted in Tansen even in the scorching summer of Terai in terms of climate.
