In the 14th edition of staff sports competition, Nepal Electricity Authority has made a clean sweep in badminton. Badminton was contested in 6 categories.
Bhaktaraj Joshi and Ambika Sapkota won the men's/women's singles respectively at the Racket and Roll Badminton Hall. In the final, Bhaktaraj defeated Vidyut's Mangesh Tamang in straight sets 21-12, 20-22, 22-20. Takkar Kunwar of Krishi Bikas Bank and Kaljang Lama of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority came third.
Ambika defeated Nepal Krishi Bikas Bank's Deepika Rai in straight sets 21-8, 21-9 in the final. Pratiksha Nepal of Agriculture and Sarla Shrestha of Civil Aviation won bronze.
Raju Maharjan defeated Vidyut's Ratna Shrestha 21-10, 14-21, 21-11 in the veteran over 45 men's singles final of the tournament organized by Staff Sports Foundation Nepal (Isan). Ghanshyam Bhatt of Nepal Airlines Corporation and Devendra Prasad Pandey of Civil Aviation came third. In the
executive doubles, the pair of Basu Kalouni and Lokendra Saud won. In the final, the pair defeated Vidyut's Vishnu Gayre and Yukesh Shrestha in a set of 17-21, 21-8, 21-18.
In the men's doubles over 45 years, the pair of Raju Maharjan and Ratna Shakya won and Vidyut's Chabilal Bhattarai and Vishnu Maske became runners-up. In men's doubles, Vinod Adhikari Rabhaktraj Joshi's pair won gold, Krishi's Takkar Kunwar and Rajkumar Niraula's pair won silver and Nepal Television's Sudip Budhathoki and Ramkumar Thapa and Vidyut's Shyam Maharjan and Vishnu Maske's pair won bronze.
