Prachanda Cup National Women's Volleyball Tournament will be held in Pokhara from June 27 to 31 under the organization of National Sports Academy.

Six major women's teams of national level - Nepal Army Club, Nepal Police Club, Armed Police Force, Gandaki Pradesh, New Diamond Youth Sports Club and Everest Volleyball Club will participate in the competition. The tournament will be played on a round robin league basis.

academy organized a press conference on Wednesday and informed about the competition. The title winning team of the tournament, which is co-organised by the All Nepal Sports Federation, will get Rs 6 lakh, the runner-up will get Rs 3 lakh and the third place team will get Rs 1 lakh. The best player will get Rs 30,000 and the best players in different categories will get Rs 20,000. According to Deepak Koirala, president of the academy, it has been arranged that three foreign players will be included in the

participating team. "In the context of volleyball being declared as a national sport, we have started the Prachanda Cup with the aim of developing it and taking it to a professional level," he said, "We believe that this tournament will be a milestone in identifying and promoting the abilities of female volleyball players."

He expressed his commitment to continue the competition next year as well and mentioned that men's volleyball tournament will be held till February. Shiv Koirala, President of All Nepal Sports Federation, said that preparations are being made for a large sports festival.
