The Chairman's Cup School Chess Championship has started at Mahendra National Secondary School in Baluwatar on Wednesday.

310 athletes from 20 schools of Kathmandu Metropolitan City participated in the first competition, which includes a total of 6 competitions for girls and boys. The first day ended with two stages. From class 1 to 4, 6 players got 100 percent victory for girls.

Pratignia Thakur of Dhumbarahi Mavi, Simran Karki and Supriya Moktan of Baasbari and Ashika Lopchan of Mahentya Mavi won both matches and added 2 points each. On the boys side, Ayam Subedi and Ion Subedi of Meridian, Shreyansh Sapkota and Arnav Manandhar of Nepal Creative and Khemraj Jaisi and Yungsen Tamang of Baasbari Mavi scored 2 points each.

Adarsh ​​Gurung, Naveen Thapamgar, Prasanna Jaishi, Pratyush Gyawali, Raju Rai registered both victories in boys of class 5-8. On the girls side, Roslyn Subedi, Argya Gupta, Samiksha Nepal, Apsara Khatri, Kashyapi Mainali won.
