Nepal's number one amateur golfer, Sadbhav Acharya, is ahead with a perfect score of 6 under 66 in the 11th Nepal Amateur Open Golf Championship which started on Tuesday.

He beat Nepal's Wangchen Dhondup by 2 strokes. Dhondup is tied for second with a score of 4-under 68. Nepal's Rahul Vishwakarma, India's Sumit Kotwal and Bangladesh's Mohammad Sahab Uddin are joint third with 2-under 70.

Nepal's Prakrit Tamang and Sri Lanka's Rashan Algama took the sixth place with a score of even-par 72. Nepal's Tasi Tshiring, Bhutan's Dechen Lendup and Nimadorji Tamang and India's Vivaan Ubhayakar are joint eighth with a score of 2 over 74.

Sadbhav birdied the first, seventh and eighth holes while playing a bogey-free front nine and finished the front nine at 3-under 33 . After this, in the back nine, Sadbhav got success with birdies in the 11th, 12th, 14th and 18th holes. He wasted a shot on the 13th hole. He also shot a 3-under 33 on the back nine.

Wangchen birdied the first, sixth and ninth holes to finish the front nine at 3-under 33. He also saved one shot each on the 10th and 12th holes and faced a bogey on the 15th hole to complete the back nine at 1-under 35 .

India's Avanthi Vivek topped the list with a 1-under 71 . She beat Tara Karki Chitrakar of Nepal by 9 strokes. Tara played 8 over 80 .

Avanthi shot 3-under 33 on the front nine and 2-over 38 on the back nine. She birdied the third, fifth, seventh, eighth and ninth holes. She bogeyed the second and sixth holes. On the back nine, she wasted one shot each on the 12th, 15th and 18th holes against a birdie on the 16th hole.

Tara from Nepal ended the front nine at 1 under 35 with a birdie on the fifth hole. But she gave a forgettable performance in the back nine. She bogeyed a total of six holes on the back nine before triple bogeying the 12th hole. She completed this back nine in 9 over 45 . India's Diya Chris Kumar is third with a score of 84 and Nepal's Angela Yonjan (91) and Avani Rai (94) are fourth and fifth respectively.

In the U-16 side, Ruben Thapa topped the list with a score of 80. Dipsan Lama who scored 90 was second and Dipesh Shrestha was third with 93.

In the men's team event, Nepal 'A' team (Sadbhava Acharya and Rahul Vishwakarma) is leading with 136 scores. Nepal 'B' team (Tasi Tshiring and Wangchen Dhondup) is in second place with 142 scores.

Bangladesh's Safiqul Islam and Mohammad Sahab Uddin are in third place with a score of 145.

National Sports Council Member-Secretary Tanklal Ghising inaugurated the competition. In the three-day 54-hole competition, 57 players from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and India from South Asia along with Nepal are participating.

This tournament is recognized by the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR). Competitive male and female players will receive ranking points .
