As the 15th President's Running Shield sports competition is approaching, the players of Far West Province are confused because there is no provincial level selection competition. The province has not yet been able to organize the competition as it has to prepare for the competition to be held in Kathmandu from 28th to 30th of May.

Representatives of Sudurpaschim Sports Federation and various sports associations of Kailali District (especially Kabaddi, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Usu, Karate, Athletics etc.) have paid serious attention to Chief Minister Kamal Bahadur Shah and Social Development Minister Meghraj Khadka. They say that honor is at stake. Chief Minister Shah has informed that the competition will be held by 'tomorrow'. Social Development Minister has also promised to proceed with the process as soon as possible. Rajeev Gupta, who has made a reputation in the 14th President's National Sports Competition, said that it will affect the athletes, even if it is to protect the honor of the province. He said that it is mandatory to attend the competition. However, the officials of the sports association are of the opinion that even the leadership of the provincial sports council is not finalized
