Goldengate Basketball Club won the Himalayan Java Basketball League (HJBL) with a score of 71-64 over Samakhusi Youth Club on Sunday.

This is Goldengate's seventh straight win. With this success, Goldengate has reached the finals. The team is at the top with 15 points from 8 games. The Hounds are second despite having the same number of points. Times Basketball Club is in third place with 13 points from 8 matches.

Now there are two rounds of matches left in the league. Then the top two teams will play the final. The Hounds still have games against Times and Goldengate. Both Times and Goldengate have their remaining games against Samakhushi Youth Club. That match will determine the two teams that will reach the finals. Royal, Kirtipur and Samakhusi are out of the final race.

Goldengate led 23-12 in the first quarter at Kirtipur Covered Hall. In the second quarter, Samakhushi won 19-16. Goldengate led 39-31 at halftime. After a 19-15 third quarter, Goldengate led 58-46. In the fourth and final quarter, Samakhusi led 18-13, but the score was not enough to win. Nikesh Magar top scored 22 from Goldenegut. He became the best player of the game.
