Birgunj Metropolitan Municipality has won the President's Running Shield competition for the third year in a row. In the district level competition held on Sunday at the Narayani Stadium in Birganj, the Metropolitan Municipality won 31 gold medals and won the first place.

In the competition, Parsagadhi municipality came second with 18 gold medals, Sakhuwa Prasauni Rural Municipality came third with 4 gold medals. There is an arrangement that the team that wins the first place for three consecutive years will be able to keep the shield permanently.

The shield, which was won for the third time in a row, was handed over to Rajeshman Singh, the head of the metropolis, during a program on Sunday. Accepting the shield, Metropolitan Chief Singh praised the hard work and dedication of the players. He also expressed his commitment to invest more in the sports sector in the future.
