The National Sports Council is going to organize the U-14 School Games in Kathmandu from May 22 to 26. Meenkumar Sharma, head of Rakhep competition department, has informed that six different games are included in the competition which is going to be held with the aim of searching for children's sports talent.
Athletics, table tennis, basketball, rugby, badminton and cricket will be played by students only.
School Sports Federation, Pabson, Ann Pabson, Nepal Teachers' Federation and representatives of the Sports Association have made the final preparations in the meeting, coordinator Ranjana Pradhan said. The tournament will be inaugurated on May 22. Athletics and rugby will be held at the stadium on 22nd and 23rd.
On the same date, Badminton will be conducted at Devinagar Hall Baneshwar, Table Tennis Lanchaur and Basketball Rakhep will be conducted at Covered Hall Tripureshwar. Sharma said that student cricket will be held at Moolpani Cricket Ground from 22 to 26.
Athletics will be competing in 100, 200, 400 and 800 and 4 x 100 meter relay race and long jump. Singles and doubles competitions will be held in table tennis and badminton. There will be competition for basketball boys/girls 3 y 3 and rugby boys/girls.
