In the 9th PM Cup NVA Volleyball League for men, Tip Top Help Nepal scored a 'hat trick' while defending the title. Help Nepal became the champion for the fifth time after defeating Gandaki Pradesh in a competitive set 3-2 at the Pokhara Rangshala Covered Hall on Thursday. Gandaki, who lost to Help Nepal last year, has settled for the runner-up position.
Although Gandaki won the first and second sets, Nepal was handed over three sets in a row. Help Nepal lost the first set 20-25 and the second set 25-27. Returning to the game in the third set, 25-22 was in their favor. In the fourth set, Help Nepal widened the gap even more and captured Gandaki 25-14.
Help Nepal registered their fifth victory by defeating Gandaki 15-8 in the last set with the support of the audience at the home ground. Although both teams played with 3 Pakistani players each, Gandaki lost the opportunity to win the title. In the competition, the police came third. On the women's side, the police came first, New Diamond second and Everest Volleyball Club third.
8 men's and 6 women's teams participated in the tournament organized by Nepal Volleyball Association. The winner of the competition received Rs. 8 lakh, the second place got Rs. 4 lakh and the third place team got Rs. 2 lakh.
