Saptari defeated Dhanusha in the first semi-final match of Madhesh Cricket League season-1 in Birganj on Tuesday and made it to the finals. Saptari defeated Dhanusha by 3 wickets.
In the scheduled 20-over match, Dhanusha won the toss and batted and played the entire over and made a total of 98 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Akhilesh Thakur of Dhanush scored 23 runs in just 9 balls with explosive batting. Himanshu Dutt contributed 21 runs.
Saptari's bowlers bowled economically. Nitesh Yadav took 3 wickets with 11 runs and Pappu Yadav took 2 wickets with 17 runs.
Saptari, who batted in response, made 1 hundred and 2 runs in 19 overs and 2 balls with the loss of 7 wickets, and secured the final place . Saptari's Rahul Vick scored 48 runs off 31 balls while not out and laid the foundation for the win. He was also 'Man of the Match'. Saptari's Amit Yadav scored 11 runs.

Bara defeated Rautahat in the second semi-final held in Kalaiya on Tuesday. The final match will be played between Saptari and Bara in Birgunj on Thursday.
