Help Nepal, the winner of the last edition, won the fifth consecutive victory in the 9th PM Cup NVA Men's Volleyball League. Help Nepal came close to winning the title by defeating Manimukund Volleyball Club in three straight sets in the match held at the Pokhara stadium's covered hall on Monday.
Help Nepal has won 25-22, 29-27 and 25-20 sets against Manimukund and has maintained its grip on the top position by collecting 15 points from five matches.
In another match on Monday, Gandaki Province scored 15 points by defeating Sudurpaschim Province in straight sets by 3-0. Gandaki won easily 25-13, 25-20 and 25-20. On the basis of sets, Gandaki is in the second place behind Help Nepal. Sudurpaschim, which has suffered its fifth defeat in a row, is almost out of the league stage.
On Monday, Nepal Police Club defeated APF in straight sets 25-22, 25-20 and 25-16. Along with this, APF suffered four defeats in five matches.
Tribhuvan Army's comeback
Tribhuvan Army Club registered its third win in the tournament by winning 3-1 over Koshi Pradesh. After losing the first set 21-25, Army won the remaining three sets 25-19, 25-21 and 25-20. With this victory, Army has scored 8 points from five games. This is Koshi's fourth defeat. Koshi has managed to score only 3 points.
Nepal Police Club and Everest Volleyball Club won the women's side on Monday. Police scored a thrilling 3-2 win over Tribhuvan Army. The police have added 2 points with the results of 24-26, 25-11, 25-19, 21-25 and 15-9 and remain at the top position with a total of 11 points.
Although Tribhuvan Army managed to score 1 point in the match that reached five sets, they are out of the league stage after scoring only 1 point in 4 matches. Army had not won any game so far.
Everest Volleyball Club consisting of players from Thailand defeated Karnali Pradesh in straight sets by 25-14, 25-7 and 25-20. Both Karnali and Army teams have been eliminated from the competition.
Nepal Police, New Diamond, APF Club and Everest are in the top 4 in the women's league. Both APF and Everest have the same 6 points. In the remaining matches, the top two teams will reach the finals, while the third and fourth placed teams will compete for the third place.
