Rampur Municipality has started a 21-day training with the aim of sharpening the players' skills and producing new players. The municipality has started volleyball and football training. According to Kamal Sen, Chairman of City Sports Development Committee, participants are from 8 to 12 years old.
Teenagers have been made to participate in volleyball to produce players under the age of 20. 50 women and 55 men have participated in volleyball. General Secretary of City Sports Development Committee Raju Gurung said that for those who cannot come to Rampur for volleyball training, mobile training has been conducted in the respective areas. 210 students from Rampur Nagar region are participating in football.
National Volleyball Referee Anant Prasad Shrestha has led the volleyball training in the training that will be conducted until June 27. Under the leadership of city football coordinator Anil Shahi Thakuri, All Nepal Football Association ANFA coach Saroj Adhikari, ANFA referee Keshav Shrestha and senior players Kasham Malla Thakuri, Gaurav Kshetri, Gum Bahadur Ramjali and others have trained. In the training facilitated by the City Sports Development Committee, Mayor Thapa said that training is important to make children creative and diligent as children are busy on the internet lately. Ward President Durga Prasad Pokharel said that in the future, children will be able to introduce themselves to the society through sports and the municipality plans to initiate training programs from the school level.
He said that Rampur Municipality is planning to provide training in cricket, kabaddi etc. Rampur municipality has previously completed three months of karate training. 155 people were trained for karate in two shifts. Karate coach was Diya Thapa . The players participating in the training have won three gold medals in the Lumbini state level competition.
