Gandaki Province has won the fourth consecutive victory in the 9th PM Cup NVA Volleyball League, maintaining a great rhythm for men. A clear win against Manimukund Volleyball Club on Sunday has strengthened Gandaki's chances of going to the finals.

 

Gandaki defeated Manimukund in three straight sets in the match at the Pokhara Stadium's covered hall and climbed to the second place in the league table. In the first set, Manimukund tried to create some pressure, but Gandaki managed to win the set 27-25. After that, Gandaki easily won three points by winning 25-21 and 25-18 respectively in the second and third sets.

With this win, Gandaki has scored 12 points, which is equal to the top ranked Tip Top Help Nepal . But on the basis of set difference, Help Nepal is at the top while Gandaki is at the second place.

In another match on Sunday, Help Nepal also maintained its winning streak and defeated Koshi Pradesh by 25-21, 25-20 and 25-22 . This help is Nepal's fourth win in a row. With 12 points, he has occupied the top of the table . For Koshi Province, the league journey is not easy . He has won only one of the previous three matches and is limited to 3 points .

Police's second victory, Sudurpaschim's struggle continues

In another men's match on Sunday, Nepal Police Club registered a one-sided victory over Sudurpaschim Province. After winning the first set by 25-19, Police made more pressure in the second set and captured the set easily by 25-9 . Police won the second set by winning the third set 25-19 in their favor . On Sunday itself, the men's divisional Derby Army swept APF clean . Army won the first set 25-13, the second set 25-20 and the third set 25-22.

Women's New Diamond and Police undefeated

Women's two important matches were completed on Sunday . In the first match, New Diamond Sports Club won 3-1 over Tribhuvan Army Club and climbed to second place in the points table. New Diamond lost the first set 21-25 but then came back to win the set 25-14, 25-21 and 25-21. This is New Diamond's third win in a row.

In the second match, Nepal Police Club registered a 3-1 victory over APF. Police won the first set 25-19 but lost the second set 24-26. But then the team regained the rhythm and got the results of 25-18 and 25-21 respectively in the third and fourth sets. With this victory, Police has risen to the top position with 9 points, while APF is limited to 6 points. New Diamond is second on the set basis with 9 points.

The tournament organized by the Nepal Volleyball Association will continue till May 15.

There are 8 teams for men and 6 teams for women. After all the teams play against each other, the top two teams will fight for the title . The third and fourth place teams will compete for bronze medals. The winning team of the

competition will receive a prize of 8 lakh rupees, the runner-up will receive 4 lakh rupees and the third place team will receive a prize of 2 lakh rupees . Similarly, the best player will get Rs 50,000 and the best performers in various categories will be awarded Rs 25,000.

The two teams that reach the women's final will participate in the Kava Club Champions League to be held in Nepal. The winning team on the men's side will represent Nepal in the Java Club Championship to be held in the Maldives.
