In the Leela Memorial U-16 Lumbini state-level cricket tournament held in Rupandehi, Kapilvastu won easily over Palpa.
Kapilvastu defeated Palpa by 191 runs in the match held at Siddharth Cricket Ground on Saturday. With the help of player Raunak Srivastava's century innings and Malik Gaddi's excellent bowling, Kapilvastu won by batting first. He made a strong total of 236 runs by playing 34 overs and 5 balls in the scheduled 35 overs, losing all wickets.
For him, Raunak Srivastava faced 88 balls and played a century innings of 110 runs with the help of 16 fours and 1 six. Similarly, Muntaz Ali contributed 42 runs and Suraj Yadav contributed 20 runs. In bowling, Palpa's Vishnu Neupane took 4 wickets, Upsan Pandey 3 and Himal Kandel 2 wickets.
In response, Palpa lost all wickets in 10 overs and ended up with a total of 45 runs. For him, no player could score runs in double figures. Upsan Vikram Ji scored the most 8 runs but other 5 players returned to the pavilion with zero runs. In
bowling, Malik Gaddi of Kapilvastu took 5 wickets by spending 14 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Suraj Yadav took 3 wickets and Kamran Ahmed and Raunak Srivastava took 1 each. Kapilvastu's Raunak Srivastava was declared the player of the match.
On Sunday, Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu will meet at Siddharth Cricket Ground, while Rupandehi and Palpa will play at Extratech Oval Cricket Ground, said Pratham Parajuli, a member of Lumbini Pradesh Cricket Association and match coordinator.
