As part of the first Martyrs' Memorial National Games, the Martyrs' Memorial National Women's Rugby Sevens Tournament will be held at Dasharath Stadium on Monday.
Shahid Smriti Sports Academy is going to hold the competition with the management and technical support of Nepal Rugby Association. Tournament coordinator Deepak Adhikari said in a press conference on Friday that 7 teams including Army and APF clubs will participate in the tournament which will be held on knockout basis. Participating teams will be divided into two groups and will be played on a league-com knockout basis. The
winner will receive a prize of Rs 1 lakh and the runner-up will receive a prize of Rs 50,000. 7,000 will be awarded to the best player. All players have been insured for 1 lakh 25 thousand sports accidents. It is said that hotel and one-way travel expenses will be provided to the participating teams. It is estimated by the organizers that about 19 lakh rupees will be spent for the
one-day competition. In that, the host academy will provide 11 lakh and the remaining amount will be managed by the Rugby Union. It was informed that
academy is preparing to organize badminton, taekwondo and futsal after rugby.
