The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has taken action against Nepal Triathlon Association President Nilendraraj Shrestha and Nepal Equestrian Association Ravi Rajakarnikar.
The Ethics Committee of OCA, writing separate letters, has banned both of them from participating in any of their programs for 90 days.
In a letter signed by Devendranath Sarangi, head of the Ethics Committee, it is said that this ban will be effective from May 18. According to the letter, Shrestha and Rajakarnikar have been accused of working against the interests of the Nepal Olympic Committee (NOC) and Nepali athletes, not fulfilling their responsibilities as per the agreement between the OCA and the NOC, and not following the instructions of the OCA.
It has also been said that the Ethics Committee has taken this action based on the recommendations of the NOC and OCA. An agreement was reached in Kuwait at the initiative of the OCA after five unions filed a court case against being denied NOC membership. Both Shrestha and Rajakarnikar were present in it. Although the four member associations withdrew the case according to the agreement, the horse rider association did not withdraw.
