The Langtang Trail Run is going to be held on May 24th in the organization of Nuwakot Tourism Society. Balram Neupane, chairman of the organizing tourism society, said at a press conference held in the capital on Thursday that the trail run will be 32 km long, starting from Cangjin Monastery in Langtang Canjin Valley at 3840 meters and ending at Syafrubensi located at 1900 meters.

According to the organizer, more than 100 local and foreign players will participate in the competition and the participation of national players is open. In the competition, the winner of both men and women will get 1 lakh, the second place will get 75 thousand, the third place will get 50 thousand, the fourth place will get 25 thousand and the fifth place will get 15 thousand. It is estimated that about 40 lakh rupees will be spent for organizing the

competition. Shiv Lamichhane, the senior vice president of the organizing society, said that the aim is to revive tourism in the Langtang region, which was greatly affected by the devastating earthquake of 2072, and to make the Himalayan race a new destination of the World Trail Run. It is said that the

competition will be supported by Bagmati Province Ministry of Tourism, Nepal Tourism Board and Rasuwa Gosainkund Rural Municipality. It is said that a technical team consisting of Gaganraj Neupane, Dinesh Tamang and Urja Tamang has been formed for organizing the competition.
