Qualifying for World Championship of Pump Track in Nepal

For the first time, the UCI Pump Track World Championship Qualifying Tournament will be held in Nepal.  Himalayan Single Track and Zero Level MTV School will conduct the selection on May 17 at Pump Track Center in Lalitpur. The competition has been recognized by Union Cyclist International (UCI) and Nepal Cycling Association.

120 players from Nepal, Japan, India, Bhutan and Australia will participate in the tournament. Players will compete in four events namely Elite, Masters, Juniors, Youth and Kids. In

as the main category, 2-2 male and female elite players will be selected for the World Championship in Switzerland next year. 

Among them, the organizer will bear the entire expenses of the two winners, Jenny Kant, the co-owner of Himalayan Single Track, informed in a press conference on Wednesday. According to the president of Himalayan Riders Club, Raj Gyawali, who supported the

tournament, the performance of Nepali players is world-class and there is a high possibility of their selection. Lalitpur Metropolitan Corporation has cooperated for organizing the

selection competition. Pump track racing is a very popular form of cycling. In this, the player does not paddle on a specially designed track, but uses his own weight to pump and advance the race.
