Hillihang Rural Municipality has won the title of sixth edition of Kummayak Gold Cup organized in Kummayak Rural Municipality of Panchthar.
Hillihang won the title by defeating Myanglung municipality of neighboring Terhthum district in Tribekar by 5-4 in the final match held at Prithvi Secondary School in Yasok.
Both teams were pushed to the tribreaker after playing with 3-3 goals. Hillihang was defeated by 5 goals to 4 in the tribreaker. Hillihang, who won the
title, has received a trophy, medal and certificate along with 1 lakh 25 thousand 555 rupees in cash. The runner-up, Myanglung Municipality Tehrathum, was satisfied with a cash trophy, medal and certificate worth Rs. 75 thousand 555. The chief guests of the event, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Tumbahamfe, Chairman of Myanglung Municipality, and Mr. Bam Lavati, President of Kummayak Rural Municipality, distributed prizes to the winners and runners-up teams of the
competition. Hillihang's Madan Majhi was declared as the best player in the
competition, Hillihang's Niroz Tamang was declared the player of the tournament, and Hillihang's Bipal Tamang was declared the best midfielder.
Similarly, the best coach Gajen Rai of Hillihang, the best defender Prakash Dhamala, and the best goalkeeper Baba Suhang were awarded. Sandeep Gurung of Manglung, Vishal Kafle of Manglung and Nirosh Lingden of Hillihang were declared as the best forward .
The organizer Kummayak Sporting Club said that eight local levels, including seven from Panchthar and Myanglung municipality of Tehrathum, participated in the competition which was conducted from 2nd to 5th of May.
