Real Madrid signed Spanish defender Dean Howson from Bournemouth on Saturday for a fee of $59 million. The 20-year-old central back has been outstanding in the Premier League this season. He only came to Bournemouth from Juventus in 2024.

Real said, "We have agreed with Bournemouth on Dean Howson's contract. Now he will play for us for five seasons, from 2025 to 2030. Bournemouth have also confirmed that Houshon will move to Real. His two former clubs, Juventus and Malaga, will also benefit from the deal. Real also rushed to sign Howson after other Premier League clubs showed interest. Now he will be available for Real to play in the Club World Cup in America. Real's first game is on June 18 against Al-Hilal in Miami.

Housen was born in the Netherlands and moved to Spain with his family at the age of five. There he joined Malaga's youth academy. He made his debut for Spain against his native Netherlands. Spain won the semi-finals of the Nations League in March. Real's defense has been poor this season and they have lost 14 games in all competitions so far. Similarly, Real won't win any titles this season. Coach Carlo Ancelotti has decided to leave Real Madrid and go to Brazil. It is also considered certain that Xavi Alonso will come as a new coach.
