Planning Boys earned 'A' Division status

Nepalese domestic football has got a new club with 'A' division status and it is Planning Boys. After 13 years of establishment, this club is sure to move up from Shahid Smarak League 'B' Division. They beat Bansbari 2-0 at the Anfa Complex in Satdobato on Tuesday.

After this victory, Kathmandu PepsiCola Town Planning's club has 27 points from 11 games and is at the top of the league table. Planning boys have achieved this historic achievement before the last two games of the league. After rising from the 'C' division in 079, the club reached the 'A' division in the next edition.

'We are very happy. Now we want to celebrate happiness. So far we are undefeated and we want to maintain this streak," said Sachindra Dhimal, the coach of the club. "All this is possible with hard work. Everyone's dream is to reach the A Division, we have accomplished it.'

After Saraswati defeated Birganj United in the third place by 3-0 in the first match on Tuesday, a draw would have been enough for Planning Boys in the match of the same day. But after Sandeep Raut, the goalkeeper of Bansbari, made two incredible mistakes, the victory of Planning Boys was confirmed. He made some excellent saves throughout the match, but missed badly on two occasions. In the 47th minute of the game, the first possible goal was a suicide in his name.

Pujan Thapa scored the second goal in the 81st minute for planning. Sandeep had more role than Pujan in this too. Due to the loss, Bansbari was limited to 15 points. "We have been preparing for this competition for a long time. The management also gave strong support for this. Most of our players are from the C Division era. That's why there was unity in the team," said coach Dhimal, "At least two games ago, we didn't think we would be promoted." "Our journey has been somewhat ups and downs, we should have been promoted in the previous stage, but the favorable results did not come. But today promotion is possible. All of us players have been together for a long time and we are all happy,” said captain Vishal Darji. Similarly, frontline player Phaguram Tharu, who has contributed significantly to the team's performance, responded that there was no limit to his happiness after the promotion. Tharu, who felt uncomfortable wearing shoes until he played in the 'C' division, has scored a decisive goal in an important match.

The whole day was a happy one for Saraswati. Initially, Saraswati got three points back and their key player Dhirendra Shah's ban was also lifted. Dhirendra, who entered the field immediately after that, also scored a goal. The appeal committee of All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) considered him eligible to play in this tournament.

Saraswati put the team ahead with a goal scored by Gyanendra Joshi in the 18th minute of the game. Naresh Khatri added the second goal in the 56th minute and Dhirendra scored the third goal in the 72nd minute. Earlier, New Basti had filed a complaint against Dhirendra.

Saraswati won the match against Naya Basti but handed the result to Naya Basti. Now Saraswati's victory will continue. Along with this, Saraswati has 15 points. Birgunj remained at 16 points.
