Nepal Army has won the title of the first National Open Khokho Tournament-2082. Organized by Dang District Khokho Association, Promotion of Provincial Sports Council Lumbini and main sponsor of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, the competition was conducted at Arani Sports Ground Tulsipur.
The divisional team Nepal Army won the title by defeating Lumbini Province by 20-16 points in the final match held on Sunday. Along with the title, he received a cash prize of 50,000, a cup, a medal and a certificate. The committee was forced to settle for 25,000 cash, cups, medals and certificates, as the runners-up of Lumbini Province, who suffered a respectable defeat in the final match. Sudurpaschim province came third in the competition that lasted for three days. He won 10,000 cash, cup, medal and certificate. In the
competition, the best player was Bed Bahadur Wali of Nepal Army, the best defense was Bikas Bik of Lumbini Province and the best attacker was Bishnu Tharu of Nepal Army. They were presented with a trophy along with the departmental certificate. A departmental team Nepal Army, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province, Sudurpaschim Province, Gandaki Province, Bagmati Province and Koshi Province participated in the
competition. Balkrishna Shah, President of Dang District Kho Kho Association, Tiran Daj Gautam, Member Secretary of Provincial Sports Council Lumbini and Pradeep Maharjan, Central President of Nepal Khokho Association participated in the prize distribution and closing ceremony of the competition.
On this occasion, Bed Bahadur Wali of Dang, who represented the Nepal team in the recently concluded World Cup in Khokho and won the runner-up trophy for Nepal, was honored with 10,000 cash. Likewise, Usha Kavar Magar, a central member of the Nepal Khokho Association, was honored for playing an important role as the coach of the Nepal team and playing a role in making Nepal the runner-up.
