Janakpurdham Mayor's Cricket Cup: Mahottari and Muzaffarpur in semi-finals

Mahottari and Muzaffarpur have entered the semi-finals of the 3rd Janakpurdham Mayor's Cup Twenty-20 cricket tournament in Janakpurdham. On Sunday, Muzaffarpur defeated Sarlahi by eight wickets and Mahottari entered the semifinals on the basis of run rate.

Mahottari from Group 'A' and Muzaffarpur from Group 'B' have reached the semi-finals, according to the organizing body. In the second match on Saturday, Sarlahi won the toss and chose to bat. The target of 167 runs was presented to Muzaffarpur after losing all the wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. For Sarlahi, Ranjit Yadav contributed 44 runs, Pradhan Yadav 41, Vishal Patel 17, Jitesh Mandal 17, Sunil Das Kathavania 17 and Gopikant Mukhia contributed 12 runs.

For Muzaffarpur, Sachin Kumar Singh took 3 wickets, Ravi Sharma and Ashutosh Kumar took 2 each and Mayank Kumar took 1 wicket. Muzaffarpur achieved the target by losing 2 wickets in 17 overs. On behalf of Muzaffarpur, Ravi Sharma remained unbeaten with 80 runs off 45 balls, Alok Kumar 37, Sachin Kumar Singh 24 and Imran Nazir scored 16 runs. Bowling for Sarlahi, Vishal Patel and Niraj Yadav took 1/1 wicket each. Ravi Sharma of Muzaffarpur was declared the man of the match. 

Similarly, in the match between Sitamarhi and Dhanusha on Sunday, Dhanusha won by DLS method.  Eight teams from Madhesh province including four from India are participating in the competition. The league stage of Group 'A' and Group 'B' is over. Group 'C' and 'D' matches will be played from Monday. The organizing organization said that the first match will be between Rautahat and Siraha on Monday.
