These two teams will be able to achieve 'bumper' success after one win. That is, entry into the European Champions League. After reaching the finals of the second biggest competition of European club football, this is a chance for these two English clubs who are in trouble. 

United beat Athletic Bilbao 4-1 in the semi-final second leg at Old Trafford to advance 7-1 on aggregate. 

Tottenham beat Bodo/Glimt 2-0 in the semi-final second leg to take a 5-1 lead on aggregate. In this way, for the first time in 6 years, two English clubs are going to meet in the final of the Europa League. In 2019, Chelsea won the Europa League by defeating Arsenal. 

"If you don't win in the final, there is no point in reaching here," said United's coach Rubane Amorim. We want to give our supporters something special, because our Premier League journey has been very bad this time.' 

Against Bilbao, United were one goal behind early on. But substitute Mason Mount scored two goals. Casemiro and Rasmus Hojlund added 1-1 for United. Dominik Salonki and Pedro Porro were Tottenham's goalscorers against Bodo/Glimt in the Norwegian soil. Spurs defender Micky van de Ven says, 'The situation is really untenable. This time our season didn't go well, but we are one win away from winning a title. It would be a title that would cap a season-long string of poor performances. 

It will be a title that will also qualify the winner for next season's highly attractive and coveted Champions League. However, if we look at the performance of both these teams in the home team, this opportunity does not seem to be suitable at all. Both are not really in the top five of the points table. Rather just above the relegation zone. United are in 15th place. The team has lost a record 16 games this time. Where is this? United will go down as the worst and lowest point finishers in modern times and the lowest in the league table in history. 

Tottenham's situation is even worse. It is one place behind north London club United. The team has also lost 19 matches while making their worst history in the Premier League. Coincidentally, both teams are playing against each other for the fourth time this season. 

Tottenham have won all three previous matches. Two of those wins are in the league and one in the English League Cup. Amorim says, “Both of our clubs are performing poorly, we are struggling. I don't even know what is happening, whether it is good or not.' 

United have reached the Europa League final for the first time since 2017. At that time the team became the winner. Overall, United is playing the final of this competition for the third time. 

United won the FA Cup last year and the League Cup in 2023. In this way, the team has an opportunity to win some title for the third consecutive season. After winning two Portuguese league titles for Sporting Lisbon, Amorim is now looking to win something for United. "This is a very big opportunity and will be very important," adds Amorim.
