Sanjay and Purnalakshmi winners in half marathon

Army's Sanjay Shrestha and Purnalakshmi Neupane emerged winners in the open men's/women's half marathon. Ranbhim Gana's Sanjay won the title in the race organized on Saturday at Diktel on the occasion of the Second Big Khotang Halesi Sports, Literary and Tourism Festival.

He covered the distance in 1 hour 8 minutes 14 seconds . He won a prize of 77 thousand 777 rupees. Army's Narendra Singh Rawal took the second place with 1 hour 9 minutes 20 seconds. He got a prize of 55 thousand 555 rupees. Army's Sushil Shahi finished third with a time of 1 hour 9 minutes 46 seconds. He won 25 thousand 555 rupees . In the

competition, Ajit Kumar Yadav came fourth, Saroj Limbu fifth, Ramji Basnet sixth and Karna Bahadur Roka Magar seventh. The fourth got 15 thousand 555, the fifth got 11 thousand 111, the sixth got 7 thousand 777 and the eighth got 5 thousand 555 rupees .

Purnalakshmi crossed the distance in 1 hour 27 minutes 16 seconds for women. She won the prize of 77 thousand 777 rupees. Nirmala KC finished second with a time of 1 hour 27 minutes 40 seconds and Nisha Sarki finished third with a time of 1 hour 27 minutes 49 seconds. Nirmala got Rs 55 thousand 555 and Nisha Rs 25 thousand 555. Both are from the Army.

Pushpa Sherpa of Panchthar was fourth, Deepa Basnet of Khotang was fifth, Rusma Rai of Bhojpur was sixth and Amisha Rai of Ranbhim Gana was seventh. They received as many awards as men. Gajendra Rai of Kathmandu, Mingmar Tamang of Sindhupalchok and Prakash Kathayat of Jumla won the top three positions in the 10 km men's race (above 15 years). They got 15, 10 and 7 thousand rupees respectively . In the women's side of the same event, Army's Krijan Pandey came first, Police's Sumitra Chaudhary came second and Ranbhim Gana's Krijan Rai came third. They got 15, 10 and 7 thousand prizes respectively .

Dharma Maharjan of Kathmandu was the first, Bhumiraj Rai of Police Club was second and Shivprasad Rai of Diktel Rupakot was third in the 7 km race for over 35 years. They got 15, 10 and 7 thousand prizes respectively .

Samrat Rai of Kepilasgarhi Rural Municipality was first, Krishna Rai of Diktel was second and Anish Karki of Diktel Solma was third in the 7 km student race for 12-15 years. For girls, Juhi Rai of Bhojpur stood first, Pooja Mahtara of Urlabari stood second and Vinita Rai stood third. Both winners got 7,500, the second got 6,500 and the third got 5,500. Sushma Tamang of Ranbhim Gana came first, Sarita Rai of Diktel second and Mugasara Rai of Diktel Solma came third in the 5 km race for mothers. They got 5,500, 3,500 and 2,500 respectively. Budhveer Lama of Elam was first, Pushpalal Shrestha of Lalitpur was second and Nil Bahadur Shrestha was third in men's 200 meters race above 60 years. They have received 5 thousand 500, 3 thousand 500, 2 thousand 500 awards respectively .

In the 2 km student category, Safal Rai of Bhojpur was the first, Nissan KC of Hillside was the second and Lilam Rai of Janjagruti was the third. Kareena Rai of Bhojpur stood first, Saru Rai of Kepilasgarhi second and Mandira Shrestha of Lafang stood third in the female category. Angel Rai of Janjagriti, Vidhan Joshi of Diktel English and Jeevans Acharya of Mount Everest won the top three positions in the under-10 student one mile race and Nisma Rai of Bhojpur, Shraddha Rai of Lafang and Yogina Rai won the top three positions in the female category. The

winner was awarded by Koshi Province Social Development Minister Pachakarna Rai. On the occasion of the festival, table tennis and intelligence will be held on 30th and 31st Baisakh and an open national literary festival will be held on May 4th, said Sanjay Kumar Rai, president of the Nepal Sports Foundation.
