Padmaraj Dhital became the first in the 5 km race under the Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon which started on Saturday at Jumla Khalanga. Navin Chaudhary came second and Saroj Katuwal came third. Karnali Sports Club, Jumla said that Vipana Tharu won first, Sunita Hamal second and Sunita Shahi third in women's 5 km race.
Hari Bahadur Bohora became first, Dipendra Budha second and Mahendra Kathayat third in 10 km race. On the women's side, Sangeeta Budha came first, Suresha Budha came second and Himali Bhandari came third.
51 km, 10 km and 5 km races were organized on the occasion of Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon. 155 runners participated in the 5 km and 355 runners in the 10 km race.
Medals, certificates and prizes are awarded to the winners of the ten and five kilometer races. Chief of District Coordination Committee Gaurinanda Acharya, Mayor Rajusinh Kathayat of Chandannath Municipality and others presented the prizes to the winning players.
Jumla Rara Ultra Marathon is being organized every year to highlight the tourism potential of Karnali.
Mayor Kathayat and District Coordination Committee head Acharya also ran in the five kilometer race.
