Saptari has been eliminated from the 3rd Mayor Cup T20 cricket tournament in Janakpurdham. After losing for the second time, Saptari, which is in Group B, has been eliminated from the competition.
In the second match on Saturday, Saptari was defeated by 10 wickets against Majhparpur. Saptari, who won the toss and elected to bat, set a target of 113 runs after losing 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Bowling for Majhparpur, Ashish Singh took 3 wickets with 16 runs in 4 overs, Sachin Kumar Singh took 2 wickets with 25 runs in 4 overs, Harsh Kumar took 2 wickets with 20 runs in 4 overs, Ashutosh Kumar and Manak Kumar took 1 wicket each. Having got a small total, Majhparpur completed the target in 10 overs 3 balls without the loss of wickets. Ravi Sharma and Alok Kumar, the opening batsmen of Majhparpur, gave excellent performances. Ravi scored 72 not out with the help of 7 sixes and 5 fours in 35 balls while Alok scored 43 runs in 30 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 6 fours. Ravi has become the highest scorer and half-century player in the competition till Saturday. Ravi Sharma of Majhparpur was declared the man of the match.
Similarly, Sitamarhi won by defeating Mahottari by 3 wickets in the first match on Saturday. Mahottari won the toss and batted. After losing 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs, Mahottari presented a target of 123 runs to Sitamarhi. For Mahottari, Naveen Kumar Yadav scored 45 runs off 34 balls and Yusuf Alam scored 14 runs. Apart from this, Mahottari's other batsmen could not score respectable runs. Guddu 'A' and Ankesh Jha, who bowled for Sitamarhi, took 2 wickets each while Vaibhav Mishra, Priyanshu Kumar, Raghav Arya and Vishal Pandey took 1 wicket each. Chasing a target of 123 runs, Sitamarhi won by losing 7 wickets in 19 overs. For Sitamarhi, Priyansh Kumar scored 45 runs in 35 balls, opener Utkarsh Pathak scored 34 runs in 33 balls and Raghav Arya contributed 18 runs in 11 balls.
Abhishek Tiwari, who bowled for Mahottari, took 3 wickets with 27 runs in 4 overs and Dhawan Kumar Sahni took 3 wickets with 21 runs in 4 overs. Priyansh Kumar of Sitamarhi was declared the man of the match.
