Nepal Champion FM Rupesh Jaiswal won the title of Prabhu Mahalakshmi 2nd Coop Open Rapid Rating Chess Tournament on Friday.

Rupesh became the winner on the basis of 8 points, progressive 52 points in the 9 stage game. Organized by the National Cooperative Federation and with the support of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Live Insurance, the winner of the competition received a term life insurance worth 10 lakhs and a prize of 40,000 rupees.

FM Kshitij Bhandari, who scored the same 8 points in the competition held with the technical support of the Nepal Intellectual Federation, finished second with 51 progressive points. Kshitij won 25,000 prizes with periodic insurance worth 7 lakhs. Eight other players have scored the same 7 points and occupy the top ten positions. In that, CM Purushottam Silwal got the third position by adding 54.5 progressive points. He has received an insurance worth 5 lakhs and 15,000 awards. Prakashchandra Nepal, Ashish Phuyal, Ashutosh Yadav from India, Hark Bahadur Chongwang, Dhiren Rai, Ashok Mohan Shrestha and Shailendra Neupane were ranked 4th to 10th respectively in the competition held on the occasion of International Cooperative Year. women with 5.5 points. She got 7 thousand. Vinita Kapali who scored 5 points got 6000 as the second and Sindira Joshi got 5000 as the third. Spurs Aryal won the award for best newcomer, Badrilal Nepali for senior player, Suraj Singh under 1800 rating, Ujjwal Dahal under 1600 rating, Subhandeep Thapa, youth 16, Hardik Pant, youth 14, Govind Nepal for insurance and Ramsharan Timalsina for cooperative. Veteran chess player Sitaram Agarwal, graphic designer Vishwaraj Sapkota, visual editor Mukti Shrestha, photographer Devu Rajvanshi were honored.

Minister of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Balram Adhikari, President of the Federation of Cooperatives Om Devi Malla, Chief Executive Officer of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Jeevan Bima Santosh Prasai presented the award to the winners.
