The departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club has won the title of National Men's Hockey Tournament. Army defeated Gandaki Pradesh by a narrow margin of 2-0 in the final at Chasal Stadium in Lalitpur on Wednesday.

Rajendra Karki and Amber Bahadur Gurung scored goals from Army. While scoring 1-1 in both halves, Army took the lead in the 22nd minute through Rajendra's goal. In the 43rd minute of the second half, Amber scored and doubled the lead. Rajendra was the player of the match.

Emerging Player APF's Pawan Mavo, Best Defender Ranjit Raut and Best Keeper Gandaki's Jason Rai were selected. Army's Kashiraj Rai and Rajendra Karki were the top scorers. Both scored 6 goals. Army's Devsingh Dhami became the player of the tournament.

Nepal Police Club came third. Police beat APF 3-0 in the departmental derby. Shankar Ghartimagar scored 2 goals and Milan Tamang scored one goal. Prem Bick of Gandaki became the player of the match.

The winning teams of the top three positions received prizes of 75,000, 50,000 and 25,000 rupees respectively. The best player in the category received 5,000. The Army team was also the winner in the national women's hockey. The

winning player was awarded by Minister of Communications Prithvisubba Gurung.
